Why This Matters

Children observe how parents work, spend, save, or argue about money. By the age of four or five, they already begin forming their first beliefs: “money is complicated,” “asking for money is embarrassing,” “money must always be saved for the future,” or “money always runs out.” These early beliefs often remain for life and influence adult financial decisions more strongly than books or courses.

Research in financial socialization psychology (Journal of Economic Psychology, Child Development, Journal of Family and Economic Issues, 2023–2026) shows that pressure, shame, and fear-based messages (“don’t spend,” “we’re not rich,” “save for a bad day”) often create anxious or avoidant attitudes toward money in children.

At the same time, calm and open conversations without moralizing help children develop a healthy financial self-image and confidence in their decisions.

Our webinar series provides a calm and supportive environment where we explore how children perceive money through parental behavior, which words and actions leave the deepest impact, and how to talk about finances in a way that helps children grow up with a sense of confidence and control rather than fear or guilt.

There will be no strict rules, no “do exactly as I do,” and no promises of “raising a future millionaire.” Instead, we focus on understanding child psychology and providing gentle practical approaches for parents.
